How To Add A Little Luxury To Your Camping Trip

June 6, 2018

If you’ve never been camping before, you probably think that you’ll spend your entire time filthy, tired, and eat nothing but burnt BBQ food. However, going on an affordable vacation, like camping, doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on comfort or luxury. In fact, all you need to do is think a little more about what you bring and where you stay, and you’ll feel like you’re on an expensive glamping holiday. If you’ve never been camping before and don’t like the idea of roughing it, then here are four ways to add a little luxury to your trip.

1. Choose The Right Site

When it comes to campsites, there is a lot of variety. You can find ones that are little more than a field and a shack with a toilet, and you can find others with electricity, an on-site shop, play areas, a nice bathroom, washing up areas, and a laundry room. If you want your trip to feel a little more luxurious, then I would opt for something like the second option. Of course, this will probably cost you a little bit more, but not nearly as much as a glamping holiday would.

2. Create Cosy Sleeping Spaces

Although most people take a sleeping bag when they go camping, there’s nothing in the rulebook that says you have to as well. Because of this, you should bring your regular duvet from home. This will probably be a lot warmer than your average sleeping bag, and also means that you don’t have to buy something else for the trip. To make your sleeping space even more cosy, you can also bring pillows, sheets, hot water bottles, slipper socks, and your dressing gown.

3. Cook Proper Food

Camping can be so much more than bottled water and burn sausages. As long as you buy yourself a good cooler, you bring plenty of delicious food, as well as wine and a jug of your favourite cocktail. If you don’t know how to choose a cooler, then you can check out a few review comparison sites to help you out. You can also invest in a great camping kettle so that you can make yourself a decent cuppa in the morning.

4. Add Some Fairy Lights

If you want your tent to look pretty and cute, and also want to be able to find it when you come back to it at night, then fairy lights are an inexpensive way to accomplish this. All you need to do is attach a string of them around the door of the tent, to create a cosy area to sit at night. You can also bring some scented candles for the same reason. You might also want to place some stake lights around your tent, to stop you from tripping over your guy ropes.

Camping may be an affordable option for a vacation, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be glam too. With the tips above, you should be able to add a little luxury to your camping trip and have the best time possible.
