Everyone has gotten to the end of an awful day and just wanted to kick off their shoes and relax in a nice warm bath, but what if your bathroom just wasn’t relaxing? What would you do then? The fact of the matter is that many people’s bathrooms simply aren’t as relaxing as they could be, and considering that the bathroom is one of the most used rooms in the homes, this just isn’t okay. If you want to create a more tranquil and relaxing bathroom in your home and turn the room into one that you genuinely enjoy being in, then here are some tips to help you out.

Opt For Calming Colours

Colours can really affect our mood, so it’s essential that you get the colour scheme of your bathroom just right. While reds and yellows can sometimes be incorporated nicely into a bathroom, they are often too bold and don’t work very well in a relaxing atmosphere. Instead, opt for blues and greens, as these are heavily associated with nature, and as such, evoke feelings of peace.

Use Natural Light

Most bathrooms feel very cold and clinical because they rely heavily on artificial fluorescent lighting. This light also causes your eyes to strain, which makes you feel tired, but not in a peaceful and relaxed way. If you want to create a more relaxing space, you should let as much natural light in as possible. Of course, if it’s nighttime, this won’t be possible, in which case candles should be used instead.

Clear Your Drains

If you’ve noticed that your water takes a long while to drain after you’ve had a bath, then your drain could be clogged and be in need of unblocking. In this case, you should call a professional who knows about hydro jetting plumbing to fix the problem. Of course, you could attempt to sort the issue yourself, but you could easily make it worse, and anyway, there is nothing calm or relaxing about unblocking a drain.

Play Soothing Music

Listening to music is a great way to relax, so consider playing some soothing tracks while you’re having a nice soak. While you could bring your phone into the bathroom to play these songs, it could get damaged by the water, and worse still, could prevent you from relaxing, so it makes much more sense to install speakers somewhere in your bathroom or buy a portable waterproof speaker or radio.

Consider The Scent

There are plenty of smells out there that can combat stress and anxiety and help you to relax, like lavender and pine, so it makes sense to incorporate some of these scents into your newly relaxing bathroom. There are many ways that you can do this, such as by burning incense, getting a few scented candles, or by decorating your bathroom with fragrant flowers. Just make sure not to add too many smells, or it could get overpowering.

If you want to create the relaxing bathroom that dreams are made of, then the tips above will really help
