New York Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear, my favorite collections

The Row

Favorite Details

  • Sharp cuts, exceptional materials and monochrome, architectural silhouettes

  • Gently billowing skirts, delicate sleeves and elongated waists

  • Neutral colour palette that included shades of moss and peach

  • Trenches, roll-neck sweaters, wide pants, and bathrobe coats cut with a controlled yet generous hand and artfully constructed to drape

  • The accessories (a sharp, cool contrast to the ease of the clothes):  the small and neat sectional shoulder bags and mid-height pointed-toe stiletto boots

  • The setting that was enhanced by a special curation of Isamu Noguchi sculptures

Victoria Beckham

Favorite Details

  • Multi-layered and multi-textured looks

  • Sharp suiting, mostly in shades of military green

  • Waists on coats and dresses neatly cinched in and slightly accentuated shoulders

  • Color palette: deep green, brown, sapphire blue

  • The use of crushed pleats, asymmetrical cuts and floral patterns

  • Outfits paired with masculine square-toed slingbacks and flat brogues in embossed leather

  • Overall vibe of the collection that was trendy yet practical,  designed for a strong, working woman

Favorite Details

  • Power-infused wardrobe ideal for modern, everyday life.

  • Oversized pieces paired with body-skimming trousers and skirts

  • Unfussy eveningwear: draped, two-piece gowns in taupe, navy, and peach velvet, a fresh take on the slipdress trend.

  • Sweatshirts stylishly tied around the shoulders, preppy-meets-street-style

  • Big, bright sweaters over straight skirts and knee-high boots

  • Bright color palette

Favorite Details

  • Uncompromising quality and durable, elegant design

  • Blazers in plaid shantung

  • Utilitarian touches added to a very luxurious sportswear: like hem of a camel peacoat that was circled with pockets, so we can go bag-free

  • Jewel-toned heavy silk outerwear trimmed in silk fringeshantung

  • Velvet evening-wear that was feminine, at times delicate, but never dainty

  • Riding boots with colorful spur details and combat boots

  • Five new handbag styles, that included a lunchbox style, binoculars case and a camera bag that doubles up as clutch
